If Pennywise made clowns scary again, than Damien Leone's Terrifier made them bloody and disgusting.

Whilst it isn't technically his first outing as the killer clown, Terrifier marks the first release of Art the Clown as our main baddie, bringing the terror along by the bucket load. We're treated to some classic stalking, some faeces smearing/artwork, and the film's first couple of mutilations in Art's very first couple of shots.

From slashing would-be final girl Vicky with a makeshift cat o' nine tails, to literally sawing a girl (top to bottom) up in front of her friend, the level of gory violence dished out in this $100,000 budgeted movie is both impressive and seriously, seriously unsettling.

Though he naturally steals the spotlight of most of the movie's scenes, Art isn't even the only lunatic present in Terrifier, with the murderous disfigured woman from the opening and closing shots and the troubled Cat Lady both doing fabulous jobs in keeping the terror ticking over.

With a sequel movie looming on the horizon, we're looking forward to seeing what terrors Art can conjure up to freak us out in the future.
