13 Awful Movie Sequel Titles We Wish Were Scrapped

7. Hellraiser: Deader

Though the Hellraiser series has had its share of generically forgettable sub-titles such as "Hell on Earth", "Bloodline", "Inferno" and so on, the most painful (yet certainly not the most generic) title comes from 2005's seventh installment, Deader. By this point, the Hellraiser series was pretty much dead-on-arrival anyway, so anyone involved with the franchise had clearly stopped trying, even resorting to using a title that isn't even a freaking word. Now, in fairness, the title isn't just some totally random, dumb use of a non-existent word: the movie does revolve around a cult called "the Deaders", though the movie's dead-serious use of the word doesn't really make it much better. Plucking any actual word out of the dictionary would have been better than using "deader", which just sounds like something an infant would scribble in crayon while still grappling with basic English.
