13 Awful Movies With 1 Awesome Scene

The Awful Movie: While it doesn't reach the lows of Superman IV: The Quest For Peace, Superman III is still a woefully depressing comedown from the first two Richard Donner movies, in large part thanks to Richard Pryor's incredulous performance, playing a character who so frequently steals screen time away from the Man of Steel.

There's just too much camp, too much idiocy and not enough of the earnestness and genius villainy that made the previous films such a hoot. A disaster.

The Awesome Scene: Superman splits into two personas at a junkyard for possibly the most existential fight scene in any superhero movie ever, as the a**hole Superman (a by-product of Kryptonite poisoning) faces off against the good-hearted Clark Kent.

Clark throws Superman into a vat of acid, Superman dumps Clark in a trash compactor, there are tires and giant magnets thrown into the mix, and eventually, Clark gains the upper-hand by strangling Evil Superman to death, banishing that part of the his personality forever more.

While some might call it too goofy, the action is thrilling, Reeve is excellent in both parts, and it nails the duality of the character perfectly.
