13 Best Horror Movies On Shudder Right Now

10. The Devil’s Rejects (2005)

Both The Devil’s Rejects and its prequel House of 1,000 Corpses (2003) are on Shudder, but there’s no way I’m giving Rob Zombie two entries on the list. So it’s the superior sequel that gets the nod.

For those who aren’t familiar with our trio of anti-heroes, the Fireflys are a family who really enjoy torturing and killing people. In The Devil’s Rejects they spend the film on the run from law enforcement whilst engaging in a bit of trademark murder along the way.

It’s really nasty stuff, truth be told. But the characters are undeniably engaging and the acting, particularly from Sheri Moon Zombie, is surprisingly good. And whereas 1,000 Corpses just felt demented, Rejects is actually a coherent movie with some uncomfortably tense scenes, often punctuated by shocking violence.

Plus, whatever you think of the ending - epic or cheesy - it’s a Got To Be Seen finale to a horror movie.
