9. The Rock Doesn't Go Giant - Rampage

In the months leading up to the release of Rampage, the marketing made it clear that the film wasn't going to take itself remotely seriously and basically just deliver the dumb monster mayhem everyone wanted to see.

Though it lived up (or down?) to expectations for the most part, there is one obvious direction for the plot that was infuriatingly ignored: having protagonist Davis Okoye (Dwayne Johnson) be injected with the same compound which made the animals grow to giant size.

After all, who wouldn't be left cackling with manic delight at the sight of a 50-foot The Rock layin' the smack down on a giant winged wolf? The movie even seems to tease it when Davis gets wounded, but rather than be injected with the material to save his life, he basically just shrugs it off.

While the movie's solid box office performance means it could still happen in the possible sequel, its exclusion in the first movie felt like an outrageous missed opportunity.
