8. Spoiling The Anne Hathaway Twist In The Trailer - Ocean's Eight

The big reveal at the end of Ocean's 8 is that snobby actress Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway) has actually been in on Debbie Ocean's (Sandra Bullock) heist and is in fact the eighth member of the titular team.

Unfortunately, if you paid much attention at all to the film's trailers, the true nature of her character quickly becomes clear while watching the actual movie.

The trailers showed Daphne acting all ditzy as she was interrogated by fraud investigator John Frazier (James Corden), a scene fairly late in the movie, which isn't remotely close to her more stern and serious personality when we first meet her.

This makes it obvious that Daphne's putting on a performance in the scene with Frazier, and therefore clearly in on the heist. Granted it wasn't all that shocking anyway, but still, there was absolutely no need for the marketing to not-so-subtly give this reveal away for free.
