13 Films You Won't Believe Turn 10 Years Old In 2015
4. Land Of The Dead
The Movie: George A. Romero directed this first entry into his Dead series since 1985's Day of the Dead, and while hardly a classic to stand tall with the other three, it's a surprisingly effective zombie flick. Above all else, it proved Romero still had it. Why It Doesn't Feel 10 Years Old: Sadly, this was the last time Romero released a good film, for his other Dead follow-ups Diary of the Dead (lame found footage) and Survival of the Dead (so bad it went straight-to-video) were dull and uninspired attempts to cash in on his former glory. As such, his recent failures have actually dated Land of the Dead somewhat: it feels like much longer than a decade ago that the director released a good film, and with no other zombie flicks on his slate, perhaps this is the way it's going to be forever more. That feeling of joyous optimism everyone had about Romero's resurgence a decade ago? It feels long, long gone by 2015.
