6. Kurse - Thor: The Dark World

Played By: Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje

Considering how awful Thor: The Dark World was - and crucially how mind-numbingly boring it was too - it did have some interesting ideas. Chief among them was the portrayal of Dark Elves being able to "level up" into The Kursed thanks to the use of Kurse Stones.

And it was this transformation that turned Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje from a Vulcan-like white-haired Dark Elf into the badass, horned monstrosity Kurse who was so key to Malekith's attempts to get the Aether. Coming in somewhere between a cross between Groot and a warthog, Kurse perfectly lives up to the billing as a sort of magical super soldier, and he was one of the only stand-out things from the wayward sequel.

It's just a shame that his reign of terror lasted so short a time and that he was so fatally undone by everything around him. There was no nuance nor subtlety to him and eventually he just bowed out like a Doomsday-like monster.
