12. The Blob
Another remake of the 50s b-movie horror classic, 2019’s The Blob is set to star the motherfucking man himself Samuel L. Jackson, as well as Catwoman’s own Halle Berry. Simon West will direct, and with names such as Con Air and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider under his belt - it should be a wild ride.
In the Steve McQueen original, a giant gelatinous alien comes from outer space to devour everything in its path, and two teenagers are the only ones who can stop it. With the police force not believing their seemingly tall tale and the town disappearing at an alarming rate, they have to race against time and intergalactic goo to save those around them. It’s flubber gone rouge.
West has claimed his version will be much more closely associated with the Alien franchise, and paint the picture of a far more sophisticated monster than in the 50s, or 80s, for that matter, since The Blob has been the muse of many directors since its inception.
