11. Firestarter
Yet another Stephen King adaptation to hit screens in the next year, Firestarter will be getting a makeover from its 1984 counterpart, heading to set cinemas ablaze later next year.
Focussing on a young girl with pyrokinetic abilities hunted by a government agency intent on weaponizing her, the original film served as one of King’s least favourite adaptations - so at least the remake has one fan in the works.
With credits on The Dark Tower film and TV series and the upcoming Doctor Sleep, Akiva Goldsman will be directing with a handy back catalogue of King’s work already under his belt. Hopefully this means some quality content all round in the name of the King.
