13 Marvel Movie Moments When Tony Stark Looked Totally Bad-Ass
11. Fights Immediately After A Racing Car Crash (Iron Man 2)
In Iron Man 2, Tony Stark has become a superstar - both as himself and in his Iron Man persona - thanks largely to a moral U-turn that saw him using his Iron Man armour strictly for peaceful means, resisting government pressure to sell his advanced designs and re-instituting the Stark Expo in Flushing Meadows, New York, in order to continue his father Howard's legacy. Whilst participating in the Monaco Grand Prix, Stark is attacked by Ivan Vanko - a man whose recently deceased father was the former business partner of Howard Stark and had thought up the idea of the first arc reactor alongside Howard - who wants to prove that Iron Man is not invincible and take revenge on Stark Industries for taking credit for the arc reactor. Using his electrified whips, Vanko literally splits Tony's car in two while it is racing, causing it to crash in spectacular fashion. Despite this, Tony has the presence of mind to stall Vanko until he can don his Mark V armour and defeat him. Surviving a Formula One crash is pretty bad-ass. Going on to immediately defeat a supervillain afterwards is crazy bad-ass.
