4. Multiple Man

What We Knew

Multiple Man could well be the strangest of comic book movies announced in recent years, and while he had appeared in X-Men: The Last Stand (as played by Eric Dane), he never really stood out as ripe for a solo movie.

Still, Simon Kinberg announced it and revealed back in November 2017 that James Franco was in line to play the hero. Even up to September of 2018, Kinberg said the script was actively being worked on. No director was attached.

Why It Was Cancelled & The Future

Along with the other X-Men spin-offs, James Franco's Multiple Man died probably as soon as Disney came to the table. It's not the kind of project Disney would launch as a flagship movie after the big deal to bring Fox's rights back in-house. It's just not that big of a deal.
