13 People You Didn't Know Were In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

12. Elon Musk

We live in a world dominated by technological innovation and its pioneers, few of whom have a profile comparable to Elon Musk, the South-African born CEO of Tesla, co-creator of Paypal and founder of SpaceX, which has the ultimate objective of colonising Mars. Also involved with the pursuit of renewable energy and high-speed transportation, Musk's reach extended into the world of film in 2010, when his SpaceX factory was used as a filming location for Robert Downey Jr's second outing as Iron Man, the originally-named Iron Man 2 (this was before they started attaching fancy subtitles to every film rather than just using numbers). Perhaps as a thank you for allowing this, Musk appears briefly in the film, conversing briefly with Downey Jr's Tony Stark and Gwyneth Paltrow's Pepper Potts during a party scene and proposing an idea for an electric jet plane. In an unrelated note, his wife, the actress Talulah Riley, has also popped up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, portraying a nurse in Thor: The Dark World.
