13 Silly Mistakes You Won't Believe Made It Into Star Trek Movies

4. What Prime Directive?

In Star Trek: Nemesis, Shinzon uses the prototype Android B4 to lure the Enterprise-E to the edge of the Neutral Zone. As Data is one of the only existing positronic beings in existence, there was little to no chance that they wouldn't take the bait. So, falling for it, the Starfleet crew make their way to Kolarus III.

Once they have arrived, Data informs Picard that Kolarus III is home to a pre-warp civilisation. Therefore, any and all contact with that species is prohibited by the Prime Directive, the single highest law in Starfleet's rule book. Not only do Picard, Data, and Worf completely ignore this law but they also engage in a targeted firefight with the locals while driving the Argo.

This breach of the Prime Directive would have each officer up on a Court Martial immediately. During proceedings, they may find a way to make the argument that the temptation of another Soong-type Android was simply irresistible, but this would be after the fact. To ignore or fail to mention the Prime Directive at all is an oversight that a seasoned Starfleet officer simply wouldn't make.
