13 Small Changes That Would Make Terrible Movies Awesome

11. It's Mostly Set In The Past - Assassin's Creed

Easily the most disappointing aspect of last year's Assassin's Creed adaptation was the fact that only a small portion of the movie was actually set in the past, with the majority of it instead taking place in the present-day, which is just decidedly less interesting.

Even in the video games the future sections are relatively divisive among the fanbase, so to set the majority of the movie there just felt like a huge mistake.

The balance needed to be inverted, which would've resulted in a more streamlined narrative that stripped away a lot of the convoluted Animus plotting and instead focused on Michael Fassbender kicking a** in 15th century Spain.

While this would've diluted the roles for Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Irons considerably, it wouldn't have been too difficult to come up with parts for them in the past, and even if not, the present-day plot was so utterly, hilariously woeful that anything to trim it back would've been to the film's huge benefit.

On paper this should've been an absolute slam-dunk with such a talented cast and crew, and with a fairly basic re-tooling of the movie's past-present split, it totally could've been.
