13 Terrible Looking 2018 Movies That Will Shockingly Make A Profit

Anna Farris Overboard
Lionsgate

Release Date: April 13

A gender-swapped remake of the dubious 1987 "classic" rom-com starring Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, the new Overboard sees Anna Faris' single, working-class mother convincing Eugenio Derbez's amnesiac playboy that they're married for her own benefit.

It looks like a bottom-rung studio comedy through and through, with the talented Faris being thoroughly wasted in a concept that clearly wants to re-imagine the original premise with a vaguely feminist twist, but's still sure to come off creepy and cruel.

Predicted Box Office: $70 million. This clearly didn't cost a penny over $20 million, and while Anna Faris isn't exactly a household name, co-star Derbez is one of Mexico's most popular comedians, with last year's How to Be a Latin Lover proving his box office viability by pulling in $61.9 million on a mere $10 million budget.

This movie's easy appeal with the underserved Mexican demographic will be enough to make it successful even in a competitive weekend. Throw in another $10 million for Faris' fans and you've got an easy success on your hands.
