2. Where Were Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Thor & The Hulk? - Captain America: Civil War
The Question: While the Civil War madness was going on, where exactly were the likes of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo)?
The Likely Answer: Nick Fury is one of the more bizarre omissions considering how crucial he was in getting The Avengers together, but apparently the screenwriters didn't want him to pick a side so excluded him. In terms of a plot-wise explanation? Probably some nonsense about heading across the world to investigate HYDRA or something. Maria Hill was likely off helping out, too.
Thor has the fairly easy get-out of being off-world dealing with Loki and that bizarre premonition from Age of Ultron, while The Hulk was originally meant to cameo in Civil War, but Marvel decided against revealing his location too early.
Considering that The Hulk meets up with Thor for Thor: Ragnarok, the big green guy surely ended up in space, and was possibly captured, considering that Ragnarok will in-part adapt the Planet Hulk storyline.
