9. The Skrulls Cause Nick Fury's Eye Injury - Captain Marvel

It's been confirmed that, with Captain Marvel taking place in the 1990s, the film will feature a younger Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) who hasn't yet suffered the fateful incident which caused him to lose vision in one of his eyes.

Naturally, the assumption is that the film will depict this horrifying incident, and fans are generally convinced that it will come at the hands of the movie's antagonistic alien fleet, the Skrulls.

The rumours go even deeper than that, with some suggesting Fury may himself become impersonated by a Skrull, though that's admittedly a little tougher to believe.

As for the ocular injury, it's pretty much a dead-cert, and you can assume it'll come in the third act as Fury attempts to save Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) from a sticky situation.
