The original Diary of a Wimpy Kid trilogy saw each movie turn in consistent profits, making at least three-times their budgets back, but the fourth film is likely to buck the trend.
A somewhat mandatory reboot as all of the original cast members have aged out of their parts, this feels like it shouldn't even have a theatrical release, instead going straight-to-video because the original series' audience likely won't buy into it.
Fox are clearly hoping that The Long Haul will kickstart a new Wimpy Kid trilogy, but this just doesn't sound promising in the slightest. A long haul indeed.
Estimated Box Office: $18 million (approx $20 million budget).
