13 Upcoming Movies Destined To Be Box Office Bombs

1. Valerian & The City Of A Thousand Planets

Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets
EuropaCorp

Release Date: July 21, 2017

Though the French comic book source material is undeniably popular worldwide, it's borderline-psychotic that this film was greenlit to the tune of €197 million (that's around $220 million), making it the most expensive French film in history by a hilarious margin of €120 million.

With neither leads Dane DeHaan nor Cara Delevingne proving box office draws, this just might be the most fascinatingly insane project in production right now. It's giving off a distinct Jupiter Ascending vibe, but without the bonafide star power of Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis (even if Rihanna does appear in a supporting role).

Short of a miracle, this may very well end up as one of the most infamous tentpole flops of all time, and even put EuropaCorp out of business altogether.

Estimated Box Office: $70 million (approx $220 million budget).
