11. The Moonlight Best Picture Debacle
Moonlight may have won this year's Best Picture Oscar, but that win was depressingly overshadowed by a backstage kerfuffle which led to La La Land being accidentally read as the winner by presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway.
Though the actors were initially blamed for the incident, it quickly transpired that PricewaterhouseCoopers' accountants Brian Cullinan and Martha Ruiz gave the wrong envelope to the pair, and when it was revealed that Cullinan had been tweeting minutes before the mistake, AMPAS announced they would no longer work with the two in future Oscar broadcasts.
As great as it was to see a movie about a very distinct aspect of the black experience win the biggest award in the movie industry, it's a shame it will be forever attached to arguably the most infamous botch in Oscar history.
