The Dark Knight Rises is a great movie in many respects, but one of its most-ridiculed scenes features uncharacteristically awful work from actress Marion Cotillard and director Christopher Nolan.

As Talia al Ghul (Cotillard) suffers mortal injuries following a car wreck at the end of the movie, she rattles off her death speech and finally expires, but not before closing her eyes and shaking her head in comically over-the-top fashion.

What's supposed to be a meaningful death scene in a big-budget blockbuster is transformed into an embarrassing after-school amateur theatre production due to Cotillard's comically overplayed death squirm.

Cotillard herself has even expressed dismay that Nolan opted to use this take over others, but that hasn't stopped fans from cringing themselves mad over it ever since the film first hit screens back in 2012.
