2. Ares' Final Form - Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman concludes with Diana (Gal Gadot) realising that General Ludendorff (Danny Huston) isn't Ares, just as peacekeeper Sir Patrick Morgan (David Thewlis) arrives to reveal that he has in fact been the real God of War all along, leading to an epic final battle between the two.

Why It's Dumb: Wonder Woman did so well for so much of its run-time, so it's a shame it even bothered with a more conventional, CGI-infused superhero showdown in the final stretch.

It didn't help that Ares' final form still shows Thewlis' face visible underneath the armour, which makes it hard to take the fight seriously considering how Thewlis has such a non-threatening presence and, as some said at the time of the movie's release, is the world's best Nigel Thornberry lookalike.

Though it was still a pretty braindead digital battle either way, it probably wouldn't have looked quite so silly if Thewlis' face was kept covered for the entirety of the fight.
