Well, this seems like a nice ending as Ripley, Newt, Hicks and Bishop somehow miraculously escape LV-426 with their lives and functionality still intact. Even Ripley's begun to warm to androids... Hmm, yes, rather too nice. But then a loud thud, followed by a sickening piercing of Bishop's midriff, followed by an almost nonchalant ripping in half of his body as the Alien Queen emerges from the Sulaco's landing gear. Surprise!

Now this is where Ripley goes ultra badass. Just as Newt is about to be killed, Ripley emerges from a chamber and strides out in an exosuit power loader shouting that immortal line "Get away from her you bitch!"

There's danger at every wham-bam turn as the Alien Queen comes perilously close to impaling Ripley with that spiky whipping tail and via the bitey-bitey inner jaw. There are great moments here when Ripley shouts "come on!" and bears her own teeth in primal defiance, whilst the Alien Queen's ear-piercing screams send shivers down the spine. Crazy women, you've got to love their chutzpah.

Having skilfully fended off Her Xenomorph Majesty, Ripley eventually jettisons the relentless bitch into outer space, although how ridiculously close was Newt to going the same way? Well saved half-a-Bishop. More to the point, surely Ripley has now earned herself a higher Class Two loader rating?
