14 New Marvel Movies Coming In 2021 & Beyond

3. Deadpool 3

Fantastic Four
20th Century Fox

It's crazy to think that it's already been four years since the Merc with a Mouth's last cinematic outing.

Following Disney's purchase of 21st Century Fox in 2017, the one character who people were really worried about was Deadpool. As part of that buyout, Disney picked up the cinematic rights to the Fantastic Four, to the X-Men, and to Deadpool. But would the famed House of Mouse be keen to showcase the profanity-laced, carnage-causing Wade Wilson? And if they did have an interest in doing another Deadpool movie, would Disney opt to tone down the violence and explicit material that comes along with Wade?

Fortunately, not only was Disney keen to do a third Deadpool movie - because money! - but this past November saw the confirmation that, yes, this film would still maintain the R-rated action that we've come to expect from a Deadpool picture.

At the same time as the announcement of that R-rated plan of attack, Disney also confirmed that soon-to-be Wrexham AFC co-owner Ryan Reynolds would be back in the fold and that Bob Burgers' Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin would be on writing duties.

Deadpool 3 has yet to find a director or be given a release date - fingers crossed for 2023 at the earliest - but it's just all kinds of great to know that the film is definitely happening.
