Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the next Marvel movie that's due to go before the cameras, with this threequel to start filming in January.

Although no plot details are known at this stage, it goes without saying that we can expect the quantum realm and all of the possibilities it offers up to be explored further here.

Cast-wise, obviously Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly are back as the titular twosome, and they'll be joined by the returns of Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne. Expect other supporting players of the previous two pictures to also be back for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, although they've yet to be formally announced at this stage.

What has been announced, though, are two major new additions to the franchise. Firstly, the brilliant Jonathan Majors - recently seen in HBO's stunning Lovecraft Country - is on board as the time-travelling villain Kang the Conqueror. Then there's Kathryn Newton of Gary Unmarried and Big Little Lies fame taking over the role of Cassie Lang, the daughter of Rudd's Scott Lang.

Rick and Morty writer Jeff Loveness was brought in earlier this year to pen the script for this third Ant-Man offering, and director Peyton Reed will be back to helm the picture - which is expected to arrive at some point in 2022.
