14 Predictions For Next Summer's Biggest Movies

The Prediction: Consistent with pretty much everything director Robert Rodriguez has made over the last decade, his $200 million, James Cameron-produced adaptation of Yukito Kishiro's beloved sci-fi manga is going to be an absolute mess, but at least a visually stunning one.

Hollywood hasn't exactly done much recently to prove that it knows how to adapt anime or manga to the big screen, so even with an artist as meticulous as Cameron backing it, it's hard to have that much faith in Rodriguez's better instincts winning out.

Why It Might Not Happen: Rodriguez has proven with Sin City above all else just how faithfully he can bring comic book images to the big screen, and with such a stonkingly huge budget, perhaps this will result in something very different from the lower-budget schlock he's been putting out for far too long.

And let's face it, Cameron doesn't put his name on something as a producer unless he really believes in it.
