14 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About The DC Extended Universe
7. Ben Affleck's Uneasy DCEU Future
Though there was initial fan uproar when Ben Affleck was cast as Batman, BvS proved he was ultimately a fantastic choice for the role, and as problematic as the film is, he was by far its most valued asset.
In the months leading up to Justice League's release, however, persistent reports have surfaced that Affleck isn't particularly happy with the way the DCEU is going, and may be looking to bail post-Justice League.
In fairness, Affleck himself has vehemently denied this, but that hasn't stopped many fans speculating that he may simply be lying in order to keep Justice League's PR strategy in tact ahead of release.
Whether or not Affleck quietly exits the part in the near future, the uncertainty is certainly aggravating for fans, especially as it's hard to really believe any avenue of information, be it the initial reports or Affleck himself.
At least Matt Reeves' involvement with The Batman suggests that the Caped Crusader is being taken somewhat seriously, so perhaps Affleck will in fact be here to stay.
