9. Sony To Make An Animated Super Mario Bros. Movie?
One of the weirder revelations to emerge from the Sony hack is that Sony Pictures are hard at work trying to secure the rights from Nintendo to make an animated Super Mario Bros. movie. Though producer Avi Arad has since denied that it's a done deal, much consideration has gone on at Sony regarding how to build the mega-profitable video game icon into a movie star. Amy Pascal for one believes Hotel Transylvania's Genndy Tartakovsky might be the man for the job. This is a particularly surprising announcement considering that Sony and Nintendo are of course rivals in the gaming world, and it would be a rather hilarious turn of events to see Sony cranking out Nintendo movies for a mutual profit. Who said they can't all just get along?
