14 Stupid Blunders That Ruined Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker

2. Reylo

Okay, to be fair, the Reylo moment is brief, but the fact that it's there at all is wrong.

A romance between Rey and Kylo Ren may have been teased in The Last Jedi, but it was always a terrible idea. It's something that would only work in bad fan fiction, not in one of the actual freaking movies.

Throughout all three movies, these two are at odds with each other. She's a good guy, he's a bad guy, it's simple. In this movie alone they have a major battle on the Death Star wreckage, and she actually stabs him and almost kills him. Sure, she heals them, but you know what that has to do with a romance between them? Nothing.

Yes, Kylo might have redeemed himself by the end of this movie, but the moment he and Rey kissed was unearned and cringeworthy. They shared a connection, sure, but not a romantic one. And then he dies in her arms because movie.

There's no other way to look at it, this is fan fiction that somehow made its way into an actual Hollywood blockbuster. What were they thinking?
