14 Upcoming Movie Sequels Nobody Asked For

3. Saw: Legacy

Pirates Of The Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales
Lionsgate Films

Release Date: October 27, 2017

You thought the Saw franchise concluded with its seventh entry, 2010's Saw 3D? Not a chance. An eighth film, which apparently isn't a reboot, is on the way, somehow kick-starting Jigsaw's antics once again with a new successor to his, you guessed it, legacy.

Considering that the seven movies made $873 million on a combined $64 million budget, it obviously makes financial sense to keep the gravy train going, but given how neatly everything was tied up in the last one, who the hell needs or wants this?

Could It Be Any Good?: It really depends on whether or not this new movie is a radical reinvention of the formula or just another torture porn flick with an arbitrary plot twist.

Rebooting the series actually makes a lot more sense in many ways, but there's a good chance this will end up being a stealth reboot anyway, featuring a new cast of characters but vaguely referencing the previous films now and then.

Either way, it's probably a no.
