14 Upcoming Movies That Are Already Doomed (And Why)

6. The 15:17 To Paris

The 15:17 To Paris
Warner Bros.

Release Date: February 9

Why It's Doomed: There are a number of question marks surrounding Clint Eastwood's upcoming dramatisation of the 2015 Thalys train attack.

First off, the film was originally intended to be fast-tracked for a late-2017 awards-friendly release date, but ended up being pushed to next month. Was Eastwood, who shoots notoriously fast, not able to get the film done in time, or did Warner Bros. realise it simply wasn't good enough, and were better off focusing on stronger Oscar prospects?

Then there's the fact that Eastwood has effectively stunt-cast the three American men who diffused the situation as themselves in the movie, a bold choice that could easily backfire. After all, remember when Eastwood insisted on casting Hmong-American actors in Gran Torino and many of them gave laughably bad performances?

Don't expect this to be another classic from Eastwood, basically.
