14 Washed-Up TV Shows In Desperate Need Of Cancellation
6. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
CSI is a show to be respected for its insane level of worldwide success, having produced over 300 episodes during the 15 seasons to date. It has also survived the departure of original protagonist Gil Grissom (William Petersen), who has since been replaced by Laurence Fishburne and its present lead actor, Ted Danson. When you're casting Ted freaking Danson as your protagonist, it's probably time to start wrapping things up (no offense to Ted, but he's so wrong for this show). Though CSI's first season was undeniably entertaining (especially with the unexpected death of Holly in its pilot episode), it quickly became one of the most formulaic episodes on TV, recycling the same ideas time and time again, while the talented cast could only charm audiences so much. Though the current ratings are only around 1/3 of season 3's 25-30 million peak and many of the original cast members have departed, there are no signs of CSI being cancelled any time soon, given that, by this point, it's pretty much an institution on CBS. It's an easily-watched, generic, overproduced crime serial that desperately needs to end, though it's pretty much past the point at which it could have a dignified ending.
