7. Britt Robertson
On another big Disney sci-fi project, Tommorowland, The Incredibles director Brad Bird has followed the Star Wars pattern in picking a largely unknown actor to feature in the lead opposite the starry support of George Clooney. That actor is Britt Robertson, the perky blonde best known for her TV work on Under The Dome. Not only featuring as the lead in Bird's retro-futuristic adventure film, Robertson is also heading up The Longest Ride, the latest weepy from The Notebook author Nicholas Sparks. Like other Sparks adaptations (and another sentimental drama, Cook, from director Bruce 'Driving Miss Daisy' Beresford, in which Robertson stars opposite Eddie Murphy), The Longest Ride might not pick up much critical kudos, but could well follow the pattern of its predecessors in box office success and a career boost for its star. Just look at where Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams went after being largely unknown when The Notebook was released. Could a similar success make the actress of Tomorrowland the star of tomorrow?
