If Daisy Ridley could turn out to be one of the stars of 2015, then it stands to reason that the same could be said of her probable co-lead. Londoner Boyega will be a little more familiar to cinema audiences than Ridley, in that he's actually appeared in films before, but nothing anywhere near the scale of Star Wars. Fans might be familiar with Boyega from his appearances in a handful of episodes of Being Human spin-off Becoming Human or British-set 24 follow-up 24: Live Another Day, but it's most likely that he will be recognised for his charismatic turn as the leader of the teen gang in Joe Cornish's urban alien invasion picture Attack The Block. Such was the natural screen presence and positive critical notices received by Boyega for his performance in that film four years ago that it may seem surprising that it has taken him this long to get a bigger leading role in a bigger film, but now that it has come it could not have been on a grander scale.
