This time last year Ridley would have been by far the least recognisable face on this list. While film and TV lovers would at least recognise most of the other actors here from something, Ridley had nothing more exciting on her CV than one episode of Casualty. Not just a completely unknown quantity, she also only has one confirmed film being released in 2015. Of course that one film is Star Wars: The Force Awakens and, because of that, Ridley's stock has already risen immeasurably even with the best part of a year until the film's release. The obvious secretiveness of the production means that little is known about her character, Rey, but she is widely assumed to be the new trilogy's female lead. In 1977 Carrie Fisher was virtually unheard of, with just one film credit to her name. By attempting to replicate the original film's fresh new cast, JJ Abrams could make Ridley a similarly huge star. Or she could be terrible - audiences have seen so little of her that it's hard to even hazard a guess how her Star Wars role will turn out.
