15 Awful Films Justice League Actors Want You To Forget

12. Winter's Tale (2014) - Russell Crowe

RottenTomatoes Score: 13% The Plot: Unfolding mostly in 1916, wily thief Peter Lake (Colin Farrell) is desperate to get away from Pearly Soames (Crowe), a New York gangster who has a hold of power over him, and get this, is in fact the Devil. Lake eventually meets Beverly Penn (Jessica Brown Findlay), a terminally ill young woman who he can't help but fall for, and as the time-spanning story unveils itself, the three find their fates colliding in unexpected ways. Why It Sucks: Despite starring a bevy of talent including four Oscar winners, nothing about this film works at all: it's magical realism nonsense without any internal logic to speak of, and actors such as Farrell and Jennifer Connelly are left to flounder on screen helplessly. Crowe, however, has another idea altogether: he hams it up for the cheap seats, with a weird accent and hilariously theatrical mannerisms which, while probably the most entertaining thing in the movie, are still head-smacking garbage. That he didn't wind up with a Razzie award is a true miracle.
