Naruto is an anime giant with a bona fide legendary status and a place on the Mount Rushmore of anime. So naturally, the series has had its fair share of movies, with some soaring highs and crushing lows. Still, throughout the Ninja's repertoire comes a film that captures everything there is to love about the series, with a little bit of love sprinkled in.

The Last (which is technically not the last, as it was followed by Boruto: Naruto The Movie) takes place after the Fourth Shinobi World War, occurring just before the finale of Naruto: Shippuden. It focuses on Naruto's mission to stop Toneri Otsutsuki after he kidnaps Hanabi Hyuga and attempts to destroy the Earth with the Moon.

Part of the appeal of this movie is that there's a distinct focus on the relationship between Naruto and Hinata. The romance between them is sweet and seeded right from the beginning of the series, so seeing it finally pay off was monumental in this flick.

Alongside that, the villain is a lot of fun, and the climactic battle is a mind-blowing spectacle that takes collateral damage to a whole new level.
