The all-star cast of Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas may not universally inspire confidence, but their body switching, role reversal Freaky-Friday-ish performances are the foundation on which a smart, action-packed comedy caper are built.

Lessons are learned, characters are developed and the bad guy is defeated, yet Jumanji remains a comedically strong movie that subverts expectations in a way that many remakes do not.
