15 Best Hans Zimmer Film Soundtracks

13. The Thin Red Line

Zimmer picked up two Oscar nominations in 1999 and while The Prince Of Egypt is a worthy contender for this list, The Thin Red Line cannot be left out.

Zimmer ended up composing over four hours of music for Terence Malick's World War Two epic, before the cameras had even started rolling, with the director then playing the music on set, in order to get himself and the cast in the right mindset for filming.

Best Track: Journey To The Line

While the entire soundtrack may not be as memorable as Zimmer's other works, the track Journey To The Line, is without question one of his best pieces. Even if you don't recognise the name, you've definitely heard it as it has being used in many movie trailers, including Man Of Steel, X-Men: Days Of Future Past and 12 Years A Slave (which Zimmer also composed).
