14. The Autopsy Of Jane Doe

The name given to females investigated by the police when they are unable to identify them, Jane Doe is introduced in this film as being one victim from a multiple homicide when she's reeled into father and son Tommy and Austin Tilden's morgue. The local sheriff tells the pair that he needs to know the cause of death before morning, kicking off one of the most chilling supernatural stories in recent times.

Director André Øvredal's decision to cast Olwen Kelly as Jane Doe, as opposed to using prosthetics or CG, really shines through as inspired as the real life body sat in the morgue does wonders in ramping up the creepiness. The blend of well-timed supernatural scares with the overriding mystery of who Jane Doe is and what happened to her makes this one of the most original and compelling titles currently on Netflix.

Incorporating the legacies of everything from The Conjuring to the Salem Witch Trials, The Autopsy of Jane Doe currently holds an approval rating of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, a score of 65/100 on Metacritic and has even received praise from the likes of Stephen King since its release.
