2. Darth Vader's Massacre - Rogue One
This one is more of a massacre than a fight scene, but it’s also one of the most applause-worthy scenes of 2016. It was a given that old Darth wouldn’t play a big role in Rogue One, which is for the best, but the film made the most of his brief screentime.
His second appearance is a hall of fame classic, where rebels try to escape with the Death Star plans, and he emerges out of the darkness with his blood-red lightsaber. He proceeds to cut through a wave of terrified soldiers without breaking a sweat, in a scene that turns Vader into a walking nightmare.
Again it’s not much of a battle since the poor guys barely get a chance to fight back, but it’s easily the most iconic sequence from Rogue One.
