Green Room is more of an intense thriller with stomach-knotting tension than an action flick, but the moment the terrified heroes turn the tables on their tormentor’s results in a terrific fight scene anyway. The two survivors manage to trick a shotgun-toting Nazi into emptying his weapon, and then they wrestle with him over it whilst reloading.

Just like every other scene of grisly violence in Green Room its knuckle-whitening stuff, and it’s so tense it’s almost hard to watch. The film finally cuts the beaten heroes a break by letting them win in this instance; if you can count shooting a dude in the face as a great victory.

In this case, it will have to do.
