It’s hard to identify exactly what the monsters in Suicide Squad are supposed to be, but let's call them zombies for the sake of argument. They’re humans enslaved and turned into pulsating creatures by Enchantress, and they’re basically cannon fodder for our heroes to shoot their way through.

Their first encounter with these zombies makes for Suicide's Squad's best setpiece, where they emerge in swarms and try to overwhelm Task Force X. All the characters get a chance to shine and show off their special skill - be it a baseball bat or a weird boomerang thing - and the fight helps bond the team together a little bit.

After a bit of a struggle Deadshot finally takes charge, tearing through the rest of the zombies with lethal accuracy. You can’t help but feel Smith insisted on this moment to make himself look awesome, but since it did exactly that it’s hard to argue with the results.
