15 Best Sci-Fi Movies On Netflix Right Now

6. Robocop (1987)

Blade Runner
Orion

Forget the pointless 2014 remake, which is also on Netflix, the original Robocop from 1987 is the only one that matters. It's the perfect action movie.

The dystopian story of a murdered cop brought back to life as a crime-fighting cyborg could have been a complete disaster but in reality, it's sublimely executed, tightly-paced, brilliantly over-the-top (at just the right moments) and features truly iconic performances from Peter Weller, Kurtwood Smith and Ronny Cox.

Add to that director Paul Verhoeven's signature blend of explicit ultraviolence and biting satirical humour and you've got an unmissable combination.

If there was ever a movie that didn't need a remake, Robocop is it.
