15 Best Scientists In The MCU

6. Howard Stark

Howard Stark's influence has been peppered throughout the MCU on both the big and small screen. Holding the title before his son Tony, Howard was the most prominent engineer of his time.

Canonically, we are first introduced to Stark during World War 2 in Captain America: The First Avenger as a boastful playboy and inventor. He is later revealed to work with the Strategic Scientific Reserve as they aided the allies to defeat HYDRA. Part of that involved Project Rebirth, the experiment that turned Steve Rogers from an eighty-pound asthmatic to the greatest soldier ever. He even had hand in the Manhattan Project, the experiments that would eventually lead to the atomic bomb.

Post war, his work would continue to mold the MCU. Through reference, we know he was on the ground floor of SHIELD's work with the Tesseract and the arc reactor technology that his son has since mastered. He also did the impossible (like, literally the impossible) and left Tony Stark a hint in a model Stark Expo that would later help him create an element.

Howard himself admits he was limited by the technology of his time so who knows what he could have accomplished in the 21st century. He definitely would be higher on this list. At least he gave Tony the foundation to finish what he started.
