10. Troy
If you're not after a World War drama, then maybe Troy is the kind of thing you're after. Epic, sweeping and action packed, Troy may not be the best acted film around - thanks to hammy performances from leads Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom and Eric Bana - but there's no denying that it's an exciting and engaging slice of cinematic nostalgia choc-full of well-realised action.
The fight between Achilles (Pitt) and Hector (Bana) is reason enough to watch the movie, but thanks to a well written script courtesy of Homer's "The Iliad" and screenwriter David Benioff (long before he brought Game of Thrones to life on screen), Troy is not lacking in stunning scenery or a powerful story.
As noted, the actors sometimes get in the way of the story - especially Bloom, still riding high in Hollywood thanks to his roles in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and the first Pirates of the Caribbean - but that's not enough to stop Troy being a great war film.
