8. Furious 7
The Hype: The biggest Fast and Furious film yet marks the unfortunate swan song for Paul Walker's Brian O'Conner character following the actor's death in November 2013, but with the addition of Jason Statham as villain Ian Shaw, alongside a returning Lucas Black as Tokyo Drift protagonist Sean Boswell and the likes of Kurt Russell, Tony Jaa, Djimon Hounsou and Ronda Rousey being added to the mix, it should be just as brilliantly off-the-wall as the last two movies. Why It'll Probably Deliver: For starters, Universal are going to have poured their heart into making sure this movie gives O'Conner an affecting, appropriate send-off for fans, and from what's been shown off in the trailer so far, it looks as though James Wan's direction hasn't deviated much from the tried and tested brilliance of Justin Lin's fantastic work on the previous films. Why It Might Not: Still, it's hard to deny that Walker's death threw the production into a tailspin, and it's possible that the final story just isn't that coherent, and that using Walker's two brothers as stand-ins combined with CGI just might not be very convincing in the long run. Plus, given that Wan has never directed action on this scale before, he could easily crumble under the pressure.
