15 Most Controversial Movie Moments Of 2014

1. Kim Jong-Un's Head Explodes - The Interview

And finally, it's the scene that caused an international incident and prompted a fervent debate about freedom of speech. Yes, it's the climax of The Interview, in which Dave Skylark (James Franco) and Aaron (Seth Rogen) fire a tank missile at Kim Jong-un's helicopter, exploding his head in a slow-motion fireball as Katy Perry's hit tune Firework plays out.

The movie as a whole angered North Korea before it had even been seen, and the explosive finale totally seals the deal. According to leaked e-mails from last month's Sony hack, Rogen (who co-directed the movie) was coerced into toning down the climactic shot of Kim's head exploding, obscuring most of the gore with a wall of fire.

Even so, on a sheer ideological basis, killing a real world leader in spectacular fashion was always destined to make the #1 spot on this list.
