15 Funniest Comedies Of The Last Decade
4. Frank (2014)
There are a lot of strange movies on this list, but Frank might be the strangest of them all. Directed by Lenny Abrahamson - who would go on to helm the Oscar-nominated drama Room - Frank is a heart-warming, yet very funny look at mental health, artistry, friendship and how music can change people's lives.
Michael Fassbender stars as the title character, Frank, a talented musician who leads his band while wearing a giant papier-mâché face on his head. He brings on Jon, played by the extremely funny Domhnall Gleeson, into his band of talented, yet slightly crazy musicians and they eventually embarkon a life-changing journey to America to perform their songs.
While the overall topic of the film is a serious subject matter, Abrahamson does a brilliant job of making sure that the comedic moments in the movie are never about making fun of Frank or his situation. The characters just accept him, his problems and his quirkiness for who he is. This not only results in a wonderful onscreen - and onstage - camraderie between the actors, but also helps make it a wonderfully funny and personal movie.
